A very big welcome to all our readers, this the first Newsletter compiled by the DanHIRE Trailers Team.
Our newsletter under the banner of Waveney Towing and Leisure includes our interest of Caravans, Boat Trailers, Horse Trailers and all aspects of Safety of Towing.
During the last few months we have all experienced a strange time of lockdowns and see the rising cases and problems of COVID 19.
During Tier 3 we have met many people so eager for the day everything gets normal and get their Caravans moving once again.
Yes we have seen a big increase of Towbar Fitting the DanHIRE Workshops have been busy.
But now at time of our Newsletter Launch we have been put on Tier 5, working to strict Government Guidelines we are open for emergency service.
During the forth coming months our Newsletter will include intro to New Products, New Trailer Reports, Tyre Reports, Discount Parts, New Trailer Discounts and the Bargain basement of Used Trailers.
Also including the most important items of Trailer and Driving Safety, and of course a discount voucher every so often 🙂

We display the red triangle and supply the trailer service record for every service.
And as a Warranty Certificate is given after every Towbar Fitting a sticker displayed to remind customers of the 3000 towing miles check or 12 months inspection of the Towbar.
DID YOU KNOW
Each year there is a average of 4.800 Towing incidents in the UK with a lot occurring on A roads and Motorways.
As a Driver towing a Trailer / Caravan you have a responsibility for safe operation and movement of the Tow vehicle and trailer.
Make sure your Driving Licence entitles you to tow both combination of vehicle and Trailer.
Check the payload that the actual gross weight being towed and within the vehicle handbook maximum towing limit Braked and Unbraked.
Check The Breakaway Cable is in good condition and connected to a suitable point within the towbar and correctly attached to tow vehicle.
Check Tyre Pressures are correct Wheels tightened to correct torque.
No Bulges. No cuts. No sidewall cracks. Proper tread with minimum of 1.6 mm across the centre three quarters of width.
Check Load is correctly sited to trailer floor prevent unstable loading and correctly strapped to trailer.
Avoid too much or too little nose weight.
Check Lights are all in good order and correctly working.
Check all wiring plugs and sockets are working.
Check You have the correct Number Plate to match the Tow Vehicle.
DON’T GET CAUGHT!
When Towing the NATIONAL SPEED LIMIT is:
MAXIMUM SPEED ON SINGLE CARRIAGEWAY 50mph
MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT ON DUAL CARRIAGEWAY AND MOTORWAY 60mph,
and MOTORWAY only keeping to LANES ONE and TWO.

TRAILER TOWING SAFETY
A very important safety device that must be fitted to all Trailers is a Breakaway Cable.
If a problem occurs and the Trailer becomes detached from Tow Vehicle, the breakaway cable pulls on the trailer braking linkage before snapping and allows the Tow Vehicle to get free of the Trailer and out of danger.
